After graduation, Raju Reddy MD remained as a research fellow and faculty member at the University of Michigan. He was recruited to be Chief of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section at Emory University’s Atlanta VA Medical Center. He was subsequently recruited as the Chief of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Section at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System.

Dr. Reddy is an active member of the American Thoracic Society (ATS), a non-profit organization committed to advancing therapy for lung diseases, critical illnesses, and sleep-related issues. Raju Reddy organized and chaired scientific discussions at multiple conferences. He has served on the ATS’s assembly committee on Allergy, Immunology, and Inflammation, a broadly-encompassing group that covers allergies, asthma, genetics, immunological responses, and lung-related illnesses.

Raju Reddy, Pittsburgh-based MD, serves on several educational boards and institutional committees. He has provided grant evaluation assistance to several local, national, and international groups, including the North Carolina Biotechnology Center Grants Program, the Hong Kong Research Grants Council, NIH, and the Veterans Affairs VISN 4 Competitive Pilot Project Fund Grants Program. Dr. Reddy also served on the NIAID FIRCA Review Panel, encouraging international cooperation between NIH-funded researchers and their colleagues in low- and middle-income countries.

One of the defining characteristics is Dr. Reddy’s keen interest in mentoring members of underrepresented groups and those from developing nations. Dr. Reddy serves on the editorial boards of many journals in his field, including the Journal of Lung, Pulmonary, and Respiratory Research, the American Journal of Pathology, PLOS ONE, and the Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology. He also acts as an associate editor for Gene Therapy and Molecular Biology and as an ad hoc reviewer for numerous other journals in his profession.

Dr. Reddy is often invited to talk about his research at international conferences such as the ATS and the American Federation for Medical Research Meeting. Raju also presented findings at the Bayer Lung Alliance and Johnson & Johnson’s Boston Innovation Hub.
